The Monica card! BRING IT!!

If Trump wants to go for the Monica card, here is what I say about that”  BRING IT!!

I have been talking to a lot of my female friends who are Hillary supporters and one who is not and we all agree  that Hillary should address his ignorance maybe just once or twice in a venue that will have a wide viewing audience and than let her document response speak to voters  whenever Trump brings it up.

Here is what we think Hillary should say”

The personal marital problems that occur between me and my husband are just that, personal and between the two of us.   I dare say that there are few women out there married to perfect infallible men.   Neither my husband or myself have claimed to be perfect .  We have made mistakes both personal and public.  Most couples with marital problems have the privilege of living a private life in which they can handle their problems in private.  This was not the case with Bill and me when he was President.  Yes, he made a terrible, hurtful mistake that took its toll on our marriage, our relationship with our daughter and the nation.   He admitted his mistake, and paid a heavy price for it by being impeached in his second term as President.  It was a terrible time for all those involved…and we all know how that turned out.

I chose to  bear the painful burden that many wives who love their husbands bear in similar situation.  I chose to work hard to keep our family together.  I chose to forgive him and all those involved.  My Christianity calls for forgiveness, self-examination and putting family first after God.  Second guessing my decision has never been an options with me.  Bill Clinton has been a wonderful father to our daughter and he has been a staunch supporter of my public service decisions.  He alone, like all the rest of us, must answer for his mistakes and he has.  The impeachment vendetta taught us at least one truism:  People who live in glass houses  should not throw stones.  And, John 8 v. 7  quotes Christ as saying about a woman found in adultery  “So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”  I assume, since Christ is no respecter of person that this would include men also.

I choose to stick to the issues surrounding this election and not personal scurrilous attacks that are all too easy to hurl at my opponents.  I ask voters to judge me on my record and service to others  and what I stand for and my proposed plans for helping this country to rise up to its promise for all Americans.

Why We Need Election Observers at the Poll

"CBS4 Investigates: Does Your Vote Count?

Ion Sancho is a man on a mission. Just weeks from the presidential election, one of the most veteran election supervisors in the state of Florida, thinks there’s plenty for him and his colleagues to lose sleep over.

What keeps him awake at night? Whether you can trust the machine you will be voting on.

“We still have not secured the process to ensure that that machine has read that ballot correctly and it is 100 percent accurate. Because it is wrong to assume that the machines are always right. They’re not, ” Sancho tells CBS4 Chief Investigator Michele Gillen.

More at the link- and Michele, who did a terrific job, promises that there is more to come. "

These machines were designed and manufactured by Republican contractors and have already been proven to switch votes or not count selected votes.

Corporations are People?

When does a corporation cease being a person?  When it's sued, of course!

An argument before the Supreme Court on October 1 in Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum will have enormous significance. The case concerns the torture of Ogoni leaders in Nigeria, but at stake is the future of the law under which this case was brought, the Alien Tort Statute.

Passed in 1789, the Alien Tort Statute was a prescient piece of legislation. It allows foreign victims of human rights abuses in foreign nations to seek civil remedies in U.S. courts, and its animating idea -- that people anywhere should have recourse for violations of the "law of nations" -- was the foundation of our modern understanding of human rights.

In the suit, the plaintiffs accuse Royal Dutch Shell of helping the former dictatorship in the arrests on false charges and torture of 12 members of the Ogoni tribe, who sought to peacefully disrupt Shell's operations because of the devastating health and environmental effects of unregulated drilling. All the plaintiffs were themselves tortured except Esther Kiobel, who brought her claims on behalf of her late husband, Barinem Kiobel. Kiobel was executed through a sham trial process in which the plaintiffs believe Shell played a central role.

The Supreme Court court accepted Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum last fall after a federal appeals court ruled that the statute could not be used to sue corporations. The justices indicated in February that they might question not just the application of the statute to corporations but whether and under what circumstances it applies to any human rights violations, even by individuals, that take place outside the United States. They ordered the case to be re-argued on exactly that question.

I highly recommend "The Fine Print"
So sick of what is happening in the nation and world-wide! World-wide "austerity" is simply social Darwinism at its worst. If there are to "austerity" measure put in place in any nation, it should also include "profit and price" controls. Otherwise "austerity" only means that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The obscene wealth increases across the world as the poor working classes in those so-called capitalistic bastions of democracy and free enterprise is simply sickening. If leaders truly care about their own citizens there will be definite profit and price controls for corporate personhood and more help for the 99%.
